Extra value for customers who collect their bikes in person
We carry out a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) according to each manufacturer’s guidance in our workshop and test ride the bike. This cannot be done on boxed bikes shipped to customers.
There is always some work to do to finalise assembly of a bike out of the box. Handlebars are often rotated to fit the box, saddles are not fitted and you risk incorrectly fitting components like pedals which can be an expensive mistake. If these are not done correctly, e.g. tightening the seat post clamp or handlebars it can result in damage to the bike or be a safety hazard.
We can check the bike you have selected fits you well and make adaptations if required. We often add puncture sealant, change handlebar stems, replace saddles, swap tyres to suit customers individual needs. If you buy a boxed bike we will not be responsible for carriage charges to return it.
We adjust your bike to suit the rider, for example our Squish childrens bikes have adjustable brake levers to suit smaller hands and we can set up the saddle height and other adjustments for you.
We will often fit accessories free of charge.
On new bikes there is a bedding in stage as cables and bearings settle in with use, this means that although a bike may have its brakes, gears and bearings set up spot on when it leaves our workshop, after a short time they will no longer be optimally adjusted. We offer customers who collect bikes in person a free tune up service within 12 weeks of purchase or after 300 miles of riding, whichever is soonest.
If there are defects due to delivery damage or other reasons we will have already identified these and corrected them before you recieve the bike.
